What is a woman’s most fertile age that’s ideal to conceive, or say, to freeze your eggs?

A woman in her optimal health, should be able to conceive easily any time upto mid-30s, after which your fertility starts to gradually decline.

Fertility in both men and women peaks in their 20s and declines with age, but in women, it happens much sooner—in their late 30s.

While it varies from woman to woman, the average fertility peak is considered to be 24 years, when over 90% of your eggs are chromosomally healthy.

Between 20-25 years, you have over 95% chances of conceiving after trying for 12 months. If any, fertility issues are more likely to be with younger males (under 25 years).

From everything I’ve read and heard from doctors, a woman’s fertility is generally highest in her 20s, especially early to mid 20s.

Roughly:

  1. 20s = peak fertility
  2. Early 30s = still good for many women
  3. After 35 = fertility decline becomes more noticeable
  4. After 40 = getting pregnant naturally usually becomes harder

But I also think online discussions oversimplify this sometimes.

I know women who conceived naturally at 39. I also know women in their 20s who struggled with infertility.

Age matters a lot, but it’s not the only factor:

  1. egg quality
  2. ovarian reserve
  3. PCOS/endometriosis
  4. sperm quality
  5. overall health

One doctor explained it to me like this:

“Fertility declines gradually, then more sharply later.”

That honestly made more sense than the fear-based stuff you see online.
