I’m 35+ and honestly my “baby plans” became way less idealistic and way more practical over time…
In my 20s I thought: “it’ll just happen when the timing feels right.”
Now I think more in terms of:
- fertility decline
- egg quality
- energy levels
- finances
- relationship stability
- how many kids I realistically want
One thing that changed my perspective was learning fertility doesn’t fall off a cliff at 35… but statistics do start shifting:
- lower monthly conception odds
- higher miscarriage risk
- more chromosomal issues over time
That doesn’t mean panic mode.
But it did make me stop assuming unlimited time.
I also know women 35+ who:
- conceived naturally quickly
- froze eggs
- did IVF
- decided against children entirely
- became parents later than expected
Honestly… I think a lot of us are quietly trying to balance biology with real life, and those timelines don’t always cooperate.
