Yes, some IVF clinics do share embryo photos, especially when embryos reach the blastocyst stage. A lot of patients actually keep them as emotional memories because for many couples it’s the first time they “see” their future baby.
Usually the embryologist takes images during:
- Day 3 embryo development
- Blastocyst stage (Day 5 or 6)
Some clinics automatically include the photos in treatment reports, while others only provide them if patients ask. A few clinics even use time-lapse incubators that create videos showing embryo development over several days.
I’ve also heard many patients say the photos helped them feel more connected during the IVF process, especially after a long infertility journey. At the same time, clinics vary a lot in how much they share, so it’s completely normal to ask directly:
“Do you provide embryo photos or embryo development updates during IVF?”
Some clinics are very transparent with this stuff, while others keep communication pretty minimal unless requested.
