Why did Khloe Kardashian opt for surrogacy?

When Khloe Kardashian decided to have her second baby with former husband Tristan Thompson, she thought hiring a surrogate would be quick and easy as she’d already seen elder sister Kim’s IVF and surrogacy journey, which was relatively smoother.

Although her medical issues were not disclosed, Khloe was seen talking to her sisters and Scott Disick about optiong for surrogacy on her doctor's advice.

“Dr. A just said it probably wasn’t the best idea for me to carry. She’s nervous and cautious about a couple of things," she said.

Unlike elder sister Kim Kardashian, who had severe sickness and medical risks in pregnancy, Khloe's reasons for surrogacy were never disclosed, other than this brief discussion.

From what Khloé shared publicly, her doctors considered her high risk for another pregnancy after complications during her first one with True. She mentioned at one point that she had a very high chance of miscarrying if she carried again, which is why surrogacy started being discussed.

It also sounded like the decision wasn’t emotionally easy for her at all. She talked about struggling with the lack of control and feeling disconnected from the process compared to carrying her daughter herself.

A lot of people online acted like surrogacy was just some “celebrity convenience” thing, but her situation seemed more complicated than that:

I actually appreciated that she admitted surrogacy felt emotionally different for her. People rarely say that out loud because they’re scared it sounds ungrateful, but I think a lot of intended parents probably relate to those feelings privately.
