She said the IVF medicines caused her an early menopause and then claimed she got pregnant naturally. How does that happen?

Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker had paused their IVF treatments as they focussed on getting married in 2022. The couple also addressed the concern of Travis’ health.

“We started an IVF journey, but I stopped,” the 45-year-old mom of 3 shared. She explained that IVF was taking a toll on her body, and she just wanted to pause so they could focus on their wedding.

A few weeks after they got hitched, the 47-year-old Blink 182 drummer was rushed to the hospital due to life-threatening pancreatitis. “Having a baby together is still an ongoing conversation, but Travis’ health is top priority right now,” a source close to the couple had said.

Kourtney Kardashian started an Ayurvedic Panchakarma cleanse to rid her body of toxins and improve the quality of eggs for fertilization. She was in the process of preparing her body to start the IVF process again.

“It’s all these things you can’t do: No sex, no caffeine, no alcohol, no sugar. You’ve gotta eat this really clean, strict diet and you do it for five days,” she said. In addition to the 5-day cleanse and IVF diet, she also spent four hours daily getting treatments at the spa.

“Everything is very ritualistic and has a purpose, and it’s fascinating. I was doing it mostly for cleansing my body [in preparation to] hopefully have a baby.”

Something must have worked. Kourtney Kardashian said she conceived naturally after months of failed IVF treatments. She was 44 at the time.

Yes, Kourtney Kardashian said she conceived naturally after taking a break from IVF. According to her, the pregnancy happened after she and Travis Barker had stepped away from fertility treatments and stopped putting so much pressure on the process.

What stood out to me was how openly she talked about how exhausting IVF had become for her physically and emotionally. She mentioned going through multiple rounds of treatment and eventually deciding to pause because it was taking a toll on her body and mental health.

She also described the natural pregnancy as something unexpected that happened once they “stopped trying so hard.” I think that part resonated with a lot of people because infertility treatment can become all-consuming emotionally.

At the same time, her story should probably be seen as a personal experience rather than proof that stopping IVF leads to pregnancy. Fertility is unpredictable, and what happened for her may not happen for everyone. But I can understand why many couples found her story hopeful, especially after hearing how difficult the IVF journey had been for her.
